Project B: Maximize sales potential of electronics-based products.

 

Initiative: Re-configure store space to accommodate expanded electronics display.
 

Statement of Work

I. Purpose Support the Strategic Goal 1 of Blue Bookstore.
II. Background Blue Bookstore needs to locate its electronics-based items in a more frequented area of the store to increase sales and orders.
III. Scope Blue Bookstore needs to track customer flow (foot traffic/phone requests), survey consumers, and analyze sales receipts (times, dates, etc.)  to determine the best area of the store to place its electronic-based merchandise.
IV. Project Approach

Phase I

Assessment

 

Review sales history of electronic-based items and analyze current and prospective market trends.

Phase II

Stock Control

 

Re-order most popular and necessary products; Order most recent versions of hard/software products if possible; Sell-off and phase-out outmoded products.

Phase III

Research

 

Track consumer traffic flow; Configure shelving and floor space for display items; measure space to determine area of store most suitable for traffic, accessibility, and display.

Phase IV

Transport

Staff will set aside a special day and time to move products to a specified area with as little interruption of daily operations as possible.

Packaging

Determine co-dependent and compatible products and offer consumers a "package deal" to purchase at original POS.

V. Managerial Approach We will assign a manager for each of the five phases of Project B.

VII. Conditions of Satisfaction

Progress updates will be made for each of the store managers twice monthly at a managers meeting. The process manager will re-evaluate scope at each meeting.
