Albert Messer, CEO
After graduating from Harvard in the 1968 with a degree in mechanical engineering, Messer worked for Chrysler Corporation for nearly ten years in the alternative-fuels division. Upon returning to Harvard to complete graduate school in electrical engineering and computer science, Messer decided to postpone his education and work fulltime for the Department of Defense. Since joining SolarCell Inc. in the fall of 1992, Messer has been in several senior-level positions. He was the former CIO. Messer currently resides in Syracuse with his wife and two children. His hobbies include golfing and reading. He is currently working on his second book, "Following the Sun."

Alan Niederman, CFO
Named "CFO of the Year" by Forbes for the past two year. Alan brings to SolarCell a wealth of knowledge and ability. He completed his BA/BS in business at UCLA and his MBA from USC in 1970. In the spring of 1997, this California native joined the SolarCell team after working with IBM for nearly twenty years. Niederman currently resides in Liverpool with his wife and three children. His hobbies include traveling and fishing, and he is currently working on his third book, "CFO: Banking on the Future."

A.E. Fischer, COO
The most recent addition to the SolarCell leadership team is Fischer, who joined in the spring of 1999. Fischer received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Florida State University in 1965 and his J.D. from Yale University with an emphasis on patent law. His many years as COO for Hewlett Packard, made Fischer an excellent candidate for his current position. He has been recognized as "COO of the Year" by COO Magazine. Fischer currently resides in Syracuse with his dog, named LambChop. He enjoys cooking and traveling.
SCOTT BERNARD, CIO
Scott Bernard was raised in Newport Beach, California, and graduated from the University of Southern California in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. He was then chosen in 1996 to be one of the Navy's first aircraft carrier "CIO's," and was assigned to USS Enterprise where he directed the establishment of a new Information Systems Department. In April 1998, he joined the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon as an IRM Program Manager. He has consulted for Chief Information Officers and their staffs at the Department of Defense, Energy, Labor, and Transportation in the areas of IT architecture development, IT capital planning, and IT strategic planning. Bernard holds a masters degree in Business and Personnel Management from Central Michigan University, a masters degree in IRM (Specialization in Government) from Syracuse University, is a distinguished graduate of the Naval War College, and is a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) at Virginia Tech in Public Administration and Policy. He is married to the former Joyce Scheg of Rochester, New York, and lives in Falls Church, Virginia where they have three children; Bill, Kristin, and Katie. Bernard's interests include reading, tennis, bodysurfing, and private flying.
