TECHNICAL REFERENCE MODEL (TRM)

The Technical Reference Model (TRM) is a hierarchical foundation to describe how technology is supporting the delivery of the service component. The TRM will outline the technology elements that collectively support the adoption and implementation of component-based architectures.

Objectives:

• To classify, categorize, and recommend technologies, components, and functions to support the reuse of business services across the Federal Government

• To define existing products and components that may be leveraged outside agency boundaries

• To align and leverage existing federal guidance and technology/architecture recommendations

Scope and Purpose:

• To support the 24 Presidential Priority E-Gov initiatives

• To evolve based on new products, services, and capabilities as discovered across industry and federal markets

• To provide a framework that identifies technology components and their relationship to standards, vendors, and business capabilities
