SERVICE COMPONENT REFERENCE MODEL (SRM)

The Service Component Reference Model (SRM) will identify and classify horizontal and vertical IT service components that support Federal agencies. The model will aid in recommending service capabilities to support the reuse of business components and services across the Federal Government.

Objectives:

• To classify, categorize, and recommend components to support the reuse of business services across the Federal Government

• To define existing service components that may be leveraged outside agency boundaries

• To align and leverage existing federal guidance and application/architecture recommendations

Scope and Purpose:

• To support the 24 Presidential Priority E-Gov initiatives

• To evolve based on new services and components as discovered across industry and federal markets

• To provide a framework that identifies service components and their relationship to the technology architecture of agencies across the Federal Government

 The Service Component Reference Model (SRM) is scheduled to be released later this year.
