Organization Structure
Madison County's system of highways has been a great asset and is of great importance in the development of the area. The department provides construction, maintenance and repair of the system of highways in the county. Their mission statement thus states,
"The mission of The Madison County Highway Department is to provide a system of highways for the transportation of people, goods and services. To monitor the system in an economic efficient and safe manner and to promote and protect the quality of life in Madison County." The department maintains 438 miles of roads and 128 bridges in the county, which includes one city, fifteen towns and ten villages.
Various entities manage the County's Highway Department. The overall picture of the major players in the Department is as follows:
| Superintendent |
The Superintendent is responsible for the proper functioning of the Highway Department on a Countywide basis. |
| Divisional Managers (Morrisville and Northern Divisions) |
Each Division is assigned a manager to oversee and manage the internal functioning in each division. |
| Office of Engineering |
The Office of Engineering is Responsible for providing technical support to the various sub-sections in the department. |
| Clerical Office |
The Clerical Office situated in the main branch is responsible for all the accounting processes within the department. |
| Supervisors (Morrisville and Northern Divisions) |
Supervisors are assigned to each process the department performs such as maintenance, construction, etc. to manage the respective processes effectively. |
