Local Area Network

The Korean Travel, Inc. Headquarters LAN is supported by an Enterasys X-Pedition ER16 Data Center that provides transparent web caching and redirection, traffic prioritization and traffic shaping which ensures full application delivery from the desktop to the LAN.  Enterasys Matrix E7 switches provide node connectivity and pinpoint control to critical network entry areas.  The topology is Fast Ethernet (100Base-TX).  The lines between the servers and switches are fully duplexed.  The connection speed between the workstations and switches is negotiated according to the workstation-supported speed 10/100 Mbps half or full duplex.  Most of the local network resources are used for file sharing, print sharing, and messaging.  Several business-specific applications and Internet access also add to the network load. Internet access is achieved through a Cisco 2600 Router.
