One of the central challenge in KHA
IT is centralized management and implementation of knowledge
warehouse or centralized configuration management data base. The
above diagram shows introduction of CMDB and different back-end
sources that will be populating this centralized data source.
By having CMDB in place will not only
help operations but will be instrumental for Enterprise Architects
to have view in current state and will help in architecting future
state.
Data in CMDB will be populated from
different back-end sources as listed in following table:

IT Inventory System will be
providing asset information, circuit, location, serial number.

Remedy Help Desk will provide
support on-call information, outstanding outages.

CA Unicenter will provide current
monitoring in place for applications.

PRISM Contracting system will be
providing current and expired contracts with hardware and
software vendor along with key Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
along with Licensing utilization on per system (application)
basis.

KH Warehouse Inventory system
will provide current inventory in warehouse broken down by type,
manufacturer, serial number and quantity.

Production Plant monitoring will
provide current monitoring in place.

PRISM AR/AP will be providing purchase order
information.
