The following is the master list of all the types of IT systems, applications, networks, and hardware found at KHA.  For each item in the inventory, the Line of Business is specified, as well as the inventory type of system, application, or hardware. Each item in the inventory is classified as one and only one type of inventory.

The purpose of this list is multifaceted.  For one, it enables KHA personnel to identify information-related resources available inside the corporation. More importantly, it allows enterprise architects a means to view the information technologies currently in use, thereby facilitating a transition of technologies when newer inventory items are needed to replace older items.  Also, enterprise security is tightened by maintaining this list.  When an item in the IT Inventory is discovered to be vulnerable (via product recall or malicious attack), the list may be used as a reference to discover if KHA is under threat.

Definitions used in the IT Inventory list:
  • Inventory: a system, application, or hardware component in which KHA possesses licensing, physical, or intellectual property rights.
  • LOB: Line of Business, either front-office or back-office.
  • System: people, processes (including software applications), and hardware working in synergistic unison for the purpose of executing a specific tactical information goal.
  • Application: a software product, module, or suite (including “operating systems”)
  • Hardware: desktops, laptops, PDAs, servers, and networking equipment.
