Brief History
Kitty Hawk Aeronautics, Inc. (KHA) is a privately-held corporation that was founded in 1981 during the Reagan era defense build-up, which spawned a number of new technology companies providing products and services to the Department of Defense (DOD). Headquartered in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, KHA has grown to five locations throughout the U.S. that includes defense, space, and commerical aviation lines of business and employs over 1,200 people. Primarily a manufacturer of high-quality avionics and telemetry components, KHA also provides production and after-market electronic assemblies and parts for aircraft and spacecraft. KHA serves all defense services, NASA, the FAA, and maintains business alliances with a number of leading aviation and aerospace firms.
