General Aviation Systems: Design Systems Functional Architecture: Entity Relationships

The following ERDs are associated with the Design Systems Functional Architecture process for General Aviation Systems.

1. ERD - CAS Systems Engineer Publishes System Functional Requirement

Description:  The General  Aviation Systems Engineering staff identifies requirements for functionality of the systems that it is responsible for developing.  These requirements are published for consumption by stakeholders of the system design.

2. ERD - CAS Systems Engineer Consumes System Functional Specifications

Description:  The General Aviation Systems Engineering staff identifies specifications for functionality of the systems and subsystems that it is responsible for developing.  These specifications are associated with specifications of subsystems that are developed by suppliers.

3. ERD - Supplier Publishes System Functional Specifications

Description:  Suppliers to CAS identify specifications for functionality of the systems and subsystems that they are responsible for developing.  These specifications are associated with specifications of subsystems that are developed by suppliers.

4. ERD -  Supplier Consumes System Functional Requirement

Description:  Suppliers to CAS are responsible for developing systems and subsystems based on functional requirements established by other stakeholders.

5. ERD - PDM Stores System Functional Requirement

Description:  CAS Engineering uses a Product Data Management system to manage all systems design requirements and functional and logical specifications.

6. ERD - PDM Stores System Functional Specification

Description:  CAS Engineering uses a Product Data Management system to manage all systems design requirements and functional and logical specifications.

7. ERD - Contracts and Legal Publishes System Functional Requirement

Description:  Contracts & Legal identifies specific functional requirements based on legal, regulatory, or contractual constraints.  These specifications are published for consumption by the other systems design stakeholders.

8. ERD - Contracts and Legal Publishes Regulatory Guidelines

Description:  Contracts & Legal identifies regulatory guidelines that influence or constrain the design of systems.  These guidelines are published for consumption (viewing) by the other systems design stakeholders.

9. ERD - CAS Systems Engineer Consumes Regulatory Guidelines

Description:  CAS Systems Engineers are influenced by Regulatory Guidelines when developing systems.  These guidelines must be available for viewing.

10. ERD - KittyHawk R&D Engineer Publishes Technology Improvement

Description:  Kitty Hawk R&D Engineers develop technologies that enable improvements to systems designs.  These technology improvements are published for consumption by the other Kitty Hawk groups including the General Aviation Systems group.
