The Enterprise Architecture is intended to help people in the enterprise to make better plans and decisions by offering an abstract view of the organization.

EA is both a management program and a documentation method that together provides an actionable, coordinated view of an enterprise’s strategic direction, business processes, information flows, and resource utilization.

James McGovern describes EA as the organization’s “nervous system function.”
