Kitty Hawk's open
architecture uses off-the-shelf components that conform to industry
standards to deliver Commercial Aviation's front and back office
services and systems. The open architecture facilitates
interconnectivity of front and back office systems and services from
different manufacturers and vendors. The Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
uses open-based standards asynchronous messaging that provides secure
interoperability between enterprise applications using XML, Web
services, interfaces and standards-based routing of documents.

At the top tier of Kitty
Hawk's commercial Aviation LOB is Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
PLM extends the use of open-standards and interoperability and allows
Kitty Hawk to partner with external suppliers and partners to
collaborate on the development, design, and testing activities
associated with Commercial Aviation manufacturing. Collaboration and PLM
use a single source of data that is shared amongst virtual team members.

Back office systems and
services, such as
Human Resources and Payroll, help Kitty Hawk realign
workforce skill-sets that will foster the collaboration effort.
This collaboration effort to
realign workforce skills supports the current KWA initiative to roll-out
a new commercial component manufacturing plant in San Diego, California
(200 new employees). |
