It would be better to include the name of the person against the component who is an expert in handling it. So it becomes easy to fix any problem with a short period of time when the experts are called in thus drastically decreasing downtime.
Adding to that it would be better if the table also suggests more specifically about the exact location of the component rather that just mention the building it is in. This would help maintenance crew to zero in the exact location of the component and get to it in a as quickly as possible.
Thus by just holding the equipment inventory list, a maintenance crew can reach the component that need attention call the expert for that job and can even contact the support services group for that specific component, thus increasing his efficiency and decreasing downtime drastically.
Care must also be taken in order to make sure that he contact numbers are valid and usable from time to time. This would require instating new policies specific for the maintenance of the equipment inventory table.
